Excellent value for money, excellent hp printer

It has worked perfectly so far. Installation on 4 computers, 2 Win7 (64 bits), 1 Win 8.1 (64 bits) and 1 Win 10 (64 bits). A note on the configuration. I went to the HP website and downloaded the latest version of the complete software to install on all computers. The printer is directly connected to the router via Ethernet and assigned a static IP address. When attempting to install from the downloaded software, on 3 separate computers, all connected to the same router, the software does not automatically find the printer, specifying the IP address, specifying the hostname or using the hardware address (MAC). At the same time, I was trying to search using the exact IP address, but I failed. I was able to open the printers web page in Internet Explorer by using the static IP address in the URL. There is a problem with the discovery routine of the downloaded software. And, yes, I had disabled all computer firewalls. In any case, the supplied software on the supplied CD-ROM facilitates is finding the printer.

Another problem I saw in the comments is with scanning lines when scanning in the ADF. I have been working for Xerox machines for more than 35 years as a Xerox employee. 99.9% of the time, this is caused by a SPOT on the glass. The MFP 426 has 2 separate glasses used for ADF scans. When scanning from the ADF, the wide-format lens is not used. The small window to the left of the main window represents one side of the duplex scan and the small document feeder window that you can see when you open the document feeder to make sure the windows are on the other side. The easiest way to confirm that this is an ADF display point is to scan the same document in the main pane. If it is a dead pixel in the scanner, you will always have a line on the platen glass.

Apart from these comments, the printer seems to work perfectly. I normally use the TWAIN driver and scan into PaperPort. It scans over the network and the TWAIN driver is working properly.

Update from 03/03/2018. I like to install a PCL version and a Postscript version of each printer because different RIPs can produce different results. Today, I installed the HP PostScript Universal Driver (from their website). It seemed to work well.

Great hp all in one printer!

I was looking for a new multifunction printer to replace my 8-year-old HP LaserJet printer and my old EPSON scanner. The description of this printer fits my needs perfectly, but I was reluctant to pull the trigger because of the negative comments caused by the scan. I finally saw a price that I liked and I decided to try it and I received the product in two days.

The configuration of the printer is simple and easy, and I was able to configure it with my WiFi network in minutes without reading the manual. I tried the print and scan functions, and they worked very well! The print is fast and quiet. The scanning is surprisingly fast and high quality. I spent tens of seconds scanning a page with my EPSON scanner, and this MFP took only 2 seconds! Wow! I also tried WiFi printing from my iPhone / iPad, as well as from my iMac and MacBook Pro, and this printer just worked!

Excellent printer but like all fights with Apple. Worthless scanner as well.

This is an issue ticket for all local small and medium businesses. Everything works well, from printing to fax and scanning. It scans directly to USB or an e-mail without using the connected computer. The only disappointment is that we use it with MACs, like ALL other printers connected to the network, it is sometimes misplaced. It’s something wrong between Apple and the printer manufacturers, they should fix the problem. The problem is not unique to HP, but be aware that as soon as your Mac is idle, the HP printer is lost and needs to be reinstalled. There is a solution, but the scanner of the laptop does not work.

Recently, we discovered the very bad feature of scanning to an email. Files that should be 300K become 3-4 mg. I bought this mainly because USB scanners require a dedicated computer and now I'm learning that the scanner has no value.
